Amazon Creek team up with Graeme Le Saux for the Dallaglio/Flintoff 2012 Slam

Amazon Creek was proud to sponsor Graeme as he took on the epic 2012 Cycle Slam challenge with Lawrence Dallaglio, Freddie Flintoff, Lee Dixon and may more riders earlier this year. Between 23rd April and 18th May, Graeme completed the 2,872 kilometres across Europe from the birthplace of the ancient Olympic Games - Olympia, Greece - to London, a feat that required willpower, determination and very strong legs!

Spanning 22 days, the route was broken down into five stages, all undertaken with vigour to get the core riders across the continent, raising money and awareness for three fantastic charities; The Dallaglio Foundation (supporting Cancer Research UK), the Andrew Flintoff Foundation (which raises money to build, develop and improve Child Rehabilitation & Physiotherapy Units throughout the UK) and Virgin Unite (which helps young people in the UK to increase their employability and entrepreneurialism).

Graeme, a renowned, now retired, international and Chelsea footballer, is pictured here with Dallaglio, Flintoff, Lee Dixon and others throughout various stages of the event! He peddled with all his might to help raise vitally needed funds for the three charities. Amazon Creek donated £10,000 to Graeme in support of this epic challenge, and helped raise awareness and increase donations for this incredibly worthy event. Between Amazon Creek, our clients and contacts we manage to raised over £30,000 which we contributed towards Graeme's overall total of in excess of £50,000! An excellent achievement by Graeme who was one of the top individual fund raisers during the event.  We also joined him cycling on the event for leg 3 in Italy and provided some of the kit (pictured here) the riders needed to see them through the long hours on the bike.

Graeme has been a regular visitor to Amazon Creek's chalets in Chamonix and also joined us on our annual "Mont Blanc Experience" (See “Events”) at the end of June.
